Shower Base Installation

The new performix ada trench drain shower pans have it all code compliant pan sizes and stylish patented wall to wall trench drain for water containment.

Shower base installation. Screw the drain fitting onto the base and make sure that it is tight. Press the shower pan base into the mortar adjusting it until the entire base is level. To install a shower pan start by fitting the pan into place and leveling it with wooden shims if necessary.

Select a shower base that has the drain located at one end right or left chosen to match your old tub drain. Then attach the pan to the surrounding studs using screws and washers that are overlapping the lip of the pan. Frame the walls then add a leakproof drain assembly like a no caulk shower drain.

Performix ada trench drain shower pans are available by quote only. Apply plumber s putty to the bottom of the flange on the drain fitting before installing it. Time to replace that old nasty shower.

Where do you start. Remove the base and install the shower drain fitting into the opening in the shower base. Select one the same length as the tub and you won t even need to add filler walls.

Since the drain position roughly matches the tub drain you may not have to add a separate vent cut out and patch the floor or reroute the drain line. Line the drain pipe up with the drain hole in your shower base and use that to guide the location of your stud walls to support the rest of the enclosure. Place the shower pan onto the mortar making sure the pre drilled holes on its rim line up with the wall studs.
